Honda CRF 22mm Triple Clamps
The 2010 (and 09 450) Honda's were designed with a short triple clamp offset to run in line with the sharp turning front weight bias chassis. Having a shorter offset is essentially like moving your motor
forward in relation to your front wheel. The Honda engineers have done this to put more weight on the front wheel and improve traction and most importantly they turn a lot faster and retain a tight race line. The drawback of the 20mm clamps is high speed straight-line
stability and wide fast cornering. I would recommend 20mm standard clamps only for supercross and lower speed
trail riding applications. The 22mm clamps are by far the best all around
offset for most guys. They offer much better cornering than the stock offset
while at the same time improving high speed
stability. The most common problem on these new generation hondas is 'tank slap/head shake' common for all riders although more noticable with the smaller guys. Front wheel washouts and lack of tyre edge grip are mainly caused from the 'overturn' caused by the sharp steering. Our clamps are designed to give the correct amount of fork flex and rigidness, exclusivly tested for us by Aus SX/MX star Michael Byrne.
